OME organizes high level conferences and workshops on various energy issues in the Mediterranean region. The first conferences organized dealt with natural gas (1988), electricity (1989), financing of energy projects (1989) and energy and urban environment (1993).
The seminars and conferences organised by OME have always been a gathering of high level representatives and decision-makers of Mediterranean energy companies, ministries and financial institutions.
The participation of representatives from the European Commission and other international organisations (World Bank, European Investment Bank, International Energy Agency, etc.) to these conferences allowed to better determine the international stakes related to the development of the energy sector in the Mediterranean basin and to contribute to the implementation of projects in the area.
