OME meets with its partners in Morocco: a rich roadmap and an increased ambition, Rabat – Casablanca

Rabat, 24-26 July,  In the framework of the MoU signed in Marrakech on 17 November 2016 at COP22 between the Moroccan Ministry of Energy, Mines and Environment, Federation de l’Energie and OME, an OME mission took place in Rabat and Casablanca during which OME met its partners to discuss the progress achieved and the roadmap for the next two years. Fruitful meetings took also place with ONHYM and IRESEN.

The mission was closed with a meeting with HE Aziz Rabbah, Minister of Energy, Mines and Sustainable Development, who confirmed his support to the MoU and welcomed the agreement of the partners to enlarge its scope. He stressed in particular the importance of statistics, thematic studies and capacity building activities and exchange of best practices and knowledge within this MoU and their enlargement to African countries. He informed about the ambition of Morocco to become a center of excellence for Energy in the Euro-Med region and in Africa and invited OME to contribute to the initiative and be part of it to carry-out OME’s new orientation further in the region and beyond.
