November 2-6, 2014, Venice, Italy – 24 energy experts, from non-EU Mediterranean countries, participated in the training course on the evolution of the energy system in the Mediterranean Region, organized by Enel Foundation in cooperation with the International Energy Agency (IEA), the Observatoire Méditerranéen de l’Energie (OME), the Renewable Energy Solutions for the Mediterranean (RES4MED) and the Venice International University (VIU). 10 countries of the South and East Mediterranean were represented.

The course provided a general overview of the current status of the energy markets in the Mediterranean basin, together with a comprehensive review of the main matter that contributes to shape modern energy systems in the region.

OME director of Modeling and Monitoring Division, Lisa Guarrera, provided a lecture on the opening day on the Mediterranean energy outlook.
